It’s Black History Month and one great way to celebrate is to buy Black-owned. Put your dollars directly into the businesses owned by Black people. A statistic that has been shared widely but is worth repeating: at the end of 2020, the United States saw 140,000 job losses. The overwhelming majority of these jobs belonged to Black women and women of color. Sisu’s mission is two-fold, support ethical, sustainable businesses for a healthier, stronger planet and diversify peoples’ wallets. We encourage our community to buy Black not just for Black History Month, but all year long. The stores and vendors available are so vast and wonderfully diverse, it is a disservice to yourself to shop the same stores over and over again, even if they are sustainable.
